JAKARTA - KAI Commuter managed to secure the perpetrators of sexual harassment at the Tanah Abang Station escalator who acted at the Commuter Line service at Tanah Abang Station on Wednesday, April 2.

This dull-faced man's action was first informed by the Instagram account @indra_papsky uploaded on April 2. The account explains that there is a woman who tells about sexual harassment.

"In the latest case at Tanah Abang Station, we are following up on the handling and disclosure of the perpetrators, also finding and handing over the perpetrators to the police," said VP Corporate Secretary of KAI Commuter, Joni Martinus in his statement, Antara, Wednesday, April 16.

Joni explained that the disclosure of this case could not be separated from the CCTV Analytic system that had been installed at all Commuter Line Stations and the alertness of KAI Commuter officers, as well as proving partiality to the victims.

"The arrest began with the recording of the suspect who had been entered into the CCTV Analytic system database, which was detected when he entered the station area and this was immediately followed up by the relevant officers," he said.

Then the security officers secured the suspect in the Commuter Line No.1759 Rangkasbitung Tanah Abang connection, Monday, April 14 at around 17.05 WIB.

The suspect was taken to the Tanah Abang Station Security Post for an initial examination and asked for his statement.

"The suspect admitted his actions, and we submitted them to the Central Jakarta Metro Police for follow-up according to legal procedures," he said.

In addition, Joni emphasized that KAI Commuter would blacklist the perpetrators of the abuse.

"With this step, the perpetrators can no longer use the Commuter Line to prevent similar incidents from happening again in the future," he said.

Not only that, KAI Commuter has also provided assistance to the victims both psychologically and legally.
