Russia: The US Threat Of Iranian Bombing Complicates Peace Roads

JAKARTA - Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Maria Zakharova said the threat of Iranian bombing would not pave the way for peace. Moscow hopes talks between the US and Iran can help avoid the crisis.

Answering a question from Reuters, Zakharova said the world was getting tired of the "independent" threat to Iran. Therefore, Russia advocates a reasonable approach to disputes over Tehran's nuclear program.

Iran and the US will hold talks at Oman this week, as tensions surrounding Tehran's nuclear ambitions escalate.

US President Donald Trump previously threatened Iran with secondary bombings and tariffs if Tehran did not reach an agreement with Washington over its nuclear program.

In the first statement since Iran rejected direct negotiations with Washington last week, Trump told NBC News US and Iranian officials were speaking, but did not elaborate.

"If they don't make an agreement, there will be a bombing," Trump said in a telephone interview reported by Reuters, Monday, March 31.

"It will be a bombing they have never seen before," he continued.

"There's a possibility that if they don't make an agreement, I'll charge them secondary rates like I did four years ago," Trump said.
