JAKARTA - Head of Operations (Kaops) of the Cartenz Peace Task Force Brigadier General Faizal Rahmadani said that until now he could not confirm how many survivors were victims of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) attack in Yahukimo Regency, Papua.

"It is true that there was an attack on the gold collectors, but it is not certain how many people were victims. Currently, the Satgas Damai Cartenz law enforcement team has been deployed from Jayapura to Dekai to the TKP," Faizal said, Wednesday, April 10, as reported by ANTARA.

Faizal said contact with survivors had been made after successfully escaping. The survivors are currently around Mabul, Korowai.

"For certainty, we are still waiting for members of the Cartenz Peace Task Force who are trying to get to the TKP to determine the number of victims who died and who managed to save themselves and the chronology of the incident," said Faizal.

Meanwhile, Dandim 1715/Yahukimo Lt. Col. Inf. Tommy Yudistyo separately said the perpetrator of the attack that killed the killer was the KKB led by Elkius Kobak.

"Currently it is not certain how many victims died as a result of the attacks on the returners," said Tommy Yudistyo.
