Tarakan Police Arrest Jambret Perpetrators

Tarakan City Police, North Kalimantan (Kaltara), arrested the robbers who acted in several areas of Tarakan. The perpetrator's action went viral on social media.

Deputy Chief of the Tarakan Police, Commissioner Satya Chusnur Ramadhana, said the perpetrator with the initials SR (40) was arrested by the police in less than 24 hours.

"Suspect SR (40) committed theft or robbery 4 times in three different locations, three in the Karang Anyar area of West Tarakan Beach, and one in Kampung 4 Village, East Tarakan," said Deputy Chief of Police accompanied by Head of Criminal Investigation Unit AKP Ridho Pandu Abdilah, Tuesday, April 8.

The perpetrators took action since March 29, 2025 at around 21.00 WITA on Jalan Mulawarman.

Then, on April 4, 2025 at around 20.30 on Sei Sewing Street, Kampung four. On April 5, 2025 at 18.30 WITA on Jalan Aki Balak, and finally on April 6 on Jalan Mulawarman at around 19:00 WITA.

"After 4 times taking action, the Police Satreskrim team managed to uncover this case in less than 24 hours, the perpetrator was arrested by Satreskrim Resmob personnel on Jalan Iskandar while selling evidence at one of the cellphone counters," said the Police Chief.

"Previously the owner of the counter was suspicious because the perpetrator had sold his cellphone several times and reported the suspicion to the police," he continued.

The evidence for Samsung's cellphone that was sold was Rp. 750 thousand and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro was sold for Rp. 700 thousand.

"From the suspect's confession, the results were used for daily needs and online gambling," said the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Tarakan Police, AKP Ridho Pandu Abdilah, said that the perpetrator carried out the action using a motorbike and targeted the victim on a deserted street, when the victim was careless, the perpetrator immediately took the victim's belongings by force.

"It broke down forcibly, the victims were all women, the perpetrators used his brother's NMAX motorbike and a rental motorbike. For his actions, the perpetrators were threatened with Article 365 of the Criminal Code regarding theft with violence with a demand of 7 years in prison," he said.

In addition to securing the perpetrators and 2 units of two-wheeled vehicles used in action, the police also secured evidence of snatched evidence in the form of 3 cellphones and bags as well as 1 gold bracelet.

"We lent the confiscated evidence to the victim for daily needs, but after the P21 file the evidence was returned to the Resort Police as evidence at trial," he said.
