BANJARMASIN - The Indonesian Navy did not dismiss allegations of rape or sexual violence by members of the Indonesian Navy Classi Satu Jumran before killing the victim of a journalist named Juwita (23) in Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (Kalsel).
"During the reconstruction, we have no intention of eliminating events that may have been suspected of being forced," said Head of the Indonesian Navy Information Service (Kadispenal) First Admiral (Laksma) TNI IM Wira Hady AWM as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, April 8.
Kadispenal said that during the reconstruction it did not display scenes of rape reconstruction. However, this allegation was not removed, but is still being processed.
Allegations of this rape will be proven during the trial. However, it cannot be conveyed at this time because this press conference focuses on the highest criminal act, namely the loss of the victim's life.
"The evidence of the murder was handed over today to the Military Oditurat (Odmil). However, for evidence of alleged forced violence, it cannot be submitted today because sperm findings are still being tested in a forensic laboratory. We are still waiting, the results will follow," he said.
In addition, said Admiral TNI Wira, digital forensic evidence will also follow because it takes sufficient time so that the evidence is accurate as a consideration at the trial later.
Therefore, he asked the public to be patient with forensic evidence which would later reveal allegations of coercion by the suspect Jumran before killing Juwita's victim.
"What the investigators have done to immediately provide a clear and real picture that the Indonesian Navy is serious about resolving this case," he said.
TNI Admiral Wira also apologized and thanked the families of the victims, lawyers, and especially the media crew who continued to oversee the news of this murder to the public.
