The Crowd Of Persija's Victory Convoy Which Ends With The Planned Examination Of The Head Of Jakmania At Polda Metro

JAKARTA - Along the MH Thamrin road to the Hotel Indonesia Roundabout was crowded with groups of residents with orange attributes on Sunday, April 25 evening. They, who could be called Jakmania, celebrated Persija Jakarta's victory in the Menpora Cup with a convoy on the streets.

That night, they unfurled banners and wore various Persija attributes. Their faces were as happy as they were because some of them were not wearing masks.

Warganet's view was divided when he saw this convoy. Some are worried about the spread of COVID-19 because the pandemic is not yet under control. Some teach euphoria because they were carried away by the victory moment of the Kemayoran Tiger club.

However, the deputy governor of DKI Jakarta, Ahmad Riza Patria, responded to the convoy which ended in a crowd. He understood that the citizens of DKI felt proud of the victory of Persija in defeating Persib Bandung. However, he regretted that there was a crowd in the convoy.

"Of course we understand, the joy of the younger siblings and residents who want to express their pride that Persija can win. However, we are very concerned and regretful that a large number of crowds, even not a few, are not wearing masks," said Riza on Monday, 26 April.

The Minister of Youth and Sports Zainudin Amali also regretted the behavior of Persija Jakarta supporters who celebrated the Menpora Cup 2021 victory by gathering.

According to the Menpora, in the midst of a pandemic, supporters should not need to create excessive euphoria to march to the streets.

"The supporters' incident is a lesson for all parties. Do not mix this incident of supporters after the pre-season competition", said Amali.

Finally, the Jakmania Central Board apologized for the euphoria of the convoy crowd after Persija Jakarta won the Menpora Cup 2021.

"In connection with the celebration of the Persija Jakarta championship which was carried out spontaneously, we hereby apologize profusely for the inconvenience that would occur if the celebration of the championship which was carried out by the Jakmania friends caused unrest", said the Jakmania central management in a written statement which was also uploaded via the @infokomjakmania Instagram account.

The Jakmania central management emphasized that they had never instructed members to carry out any convoys or celebrations that were excessive, let alone violating established health protocols.

"We also hope that the Jakmania's euphoric spontaneous action on Sunday night will not cause things we do not want, there will be no spread of the pandemic and all will always be healthy and under the protection of Allah SWT", he wrote.

However, apologies are not enough. Jakarta Police will examine the Chairman of The Jakmania Diky Soemarno and the management of the Persija Jakarta team. This examination plan is in the aftermath of the violation of the health protocol at the Hotel Indonesia Roundabout.

"The chairman of Jakmania will be summoned for us to clarify to account for this and from the Persija management we will summon, we will invite here to explain to investigators until there is a crowd like last night", said Head of Public Relations of Jakarta Police Kombes Yusri Yunus.

From a temporary investigation, the police began mapping the social media accounts that provoked Jakmania to take to the streets. Meanwhile, the 65 Jakmania who were previously secured has now been sent home. They were discharged after undergoing a series of examinations.

"65 (The Jakmania) we secure we have interrogated and we have returned home. His confession is spontaneity", said Yusri.
