The Governor of West Java, Dedi Mulyadi, is targeting West Java to be free from thuggery in 2025 in connection with disturbing actions accompanied by elements of intimidation carried out by members of mass organizations and NGOs in Bekasi.

"The target is that in 2025, West Java will be free from thuggery," said Dedi in Bandung, Friday, March 21, as reported by ANTARA.

To realize this target, Dedi plans to form an Anti-Premanism Task Force.

He admitted that he had communicated with various relevant agencies in West Java, including elements of the TNI and Polri, to form the task force.

This is because the acts of thugs shown by NGOs and mass organizations have been troubling, such as intimidation of security officers in one of the companies, then the destruction of official office facilities with mud and garbage.

"There was an incident in Bekasi where security was intimidated, as well as in Bekasi Regency which was angry at the office. Therefore, we want to form an anti- thuggery task force," he said.

For acts of thuggery at an official office in Bekasi Regency, where NGOs damaged official office facilities with mud and garbage, Dedi emphasized that this would not be allowed and completed simply by apologizing.

"Just sorry is not enough. There must be legal steps," he said.

Dedi emphasized that the presence of the anti- thuggery task force is expected as a solution so that similar incidents do not happen again. The task force will later be filled with various elements, starting from the TNI, Polri including POM or PM.

The formation of this task force is also designed for long-term purposes, not only at certain moments such as Eid, but to maintain a safe and conducive investment climate in West Java.

"This task force is to be able to move quickly to eradicate thuggery, so there will be a special institution up to the regional level. Including the telephone number," he said.
