Febri Diansyah Denies Honorary Issues From SYL Corruption Results

Advocate Febri Diansyah stated that the honorarium he received from former Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL), M. Hatta, and Kasdi Subagyono came from his client's personal pocket.

The statement was made denying the alleged Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) which stated that the honorarium came from the proceeds of a criminal act of corruption.

"Actually, it was clear in Pak SYL's trial process some time ago that all of my clients at that time emphasized the funds they had given, so there was an investigation. The funds given at the investigation stage were the contributions of the three of them from personal funds," Febri told reporters at the Jakarta Corruption Court, Friday, March 21.

Even before becoming the attorney for his three clients, Febri had refused if his honorarium came from ministry funds. Therefore, all the money he received was purely from his clients.

"So it is not from the Ministry of Agriculture's funds, even the secretary general of the Ministry of Agriculture at that time who was the defendant emphasized that from the beginning when I communicated with him, I refused to be given honorariums originating from APBN or Ministry of Agriculture funds because it was a personal case. It should have been clear," he said.

Meanwhile, regarding the honorarium at the investigation stage, Febri said that he was accepted from the SYL family, who at that time no longer served as Minister of Agriculture.

"What was conveyed to me at that time was very firm, Mr. SYL said, this is my personal fund, it was conveyed in the trial process. It should have been clearly separated, of course, because this is guaranteed by law," said Febri.

Previously reported, the KPK suspected that former Agriculture Minister Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL) used the extorted money and gratuities he received to pay for the Visi Law Office services.

This is the basis for investigators to search the law firm's office in Pondok Indah, South Jakarta on Wednesday, March 19 yesterday.

"We are currently handling SYL's TPPU case. In the TPPU case, of course, we will track where the money suspected of being the proceeds of corruption flows," said KPK Investigation Director Asep Guntur Rahayu.

The Vision Law Office was founded by former KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah and former Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW) researcher Donal Fariz in 2022. After running, Rasamala Aritonang, who is the former Head of the Drafting of KPK Regulations and Legal Products, joined.

Febri and Rasamala later became the politicians' attorneys in cases of extortion and gratification.

"Well, we suspect that the money from SYL's corruption was used to pay. So we checked there," explained Asep.
