Anies's Men Admit That They Do Not Anticipate The Jakmania Convoy Crowd

JAKARTA - The crowd took place in the HI Roundabout area, Central Jakarta, Sunday, April 25 evening. They are supporters of Persija Jakarta who celebrated the victory over the Menpora Cup.

Responding to this, the Head of the Central Jakarta Health Office, Erizon Safari, admitted that he did not anticipate the prevention of crowds of residents over the euphoria of the Persija club victory.

"This is not something that was planned. It is impossible to anticipate it," said Erizon when contacted, Monday, April 26.

Given the difficulty of identifying the residents involved in the convoy crowd along Jalan MH Thamrin towards the HI Roundabout yesterday, Erizon also admitted that his party had not carried out contact tracing (tracing) of the COVID-19 case.

"We are not there yet. Who is it, we also cannot identify it. That is a mass of hundreds or thousands of people. But if anything is confirmed, whoever is with him is the one we are tracing," he said.

Separately, Head of Satpol PP DKI Arifin also admitted that he did not predict the Jakmania crowd in the center of Jakarta. "It's spontaneity," said Arifin.

However, Arifin emphasized that his staff who were on duty in the HI Roundabout area also immediately took action to disperse the masses.

"That night, we immediately made an appeal and encouraged them not to crowd. We have also coordinated with the police to help disperse the crowd," he explained.

On Sunday, April 25 evening, a number of Persija Jakarta supporters carried out a convoy on Jalan MH Thamrin towards the Hotel Indonesia (HI) roundabout, Central Jakarta. The convoy was held to celebrate Persija's victory over the Menpora Cup.

These Jakmanias packed a section of Jalan MH Thamrin, unfurling banners and wearing various Persija attributes. Some of them are not wearing masks.

It is known, Persija Jakarta managed to win the Menpora Cup 2021 after beating Persib Bandung. In the second leg match at the Solo Manahan Stadium, Sunday, April 25, Persija beat Persib 2-1.
