KPK Searches The Law Firm Office Of Rasamala Aritonang And Donal Fariz Regarding The SYL Money Laundering Case

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) searched the offices of legal firms Donal Fariz and Rasamala Aritonang, Visi Law Office today.

This forced effort is related to the alleged money laundering crime (TPPU) that ensnared former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo.

Visi Law Office is a law firm office founded by former KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah along with former Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW) researcher Donal Fariz. Then, Rasamala Aritonang, who is a former anti-corruption commission employee, joined in 2022.

Recently, Febri Diansyah has no longer joined the Vision Law Office. He founded a new law firm, namely Diansyah and Partners.

"It is true (there was a search, ed) related to the investigation warrant (sprindik) of the SYL suspect," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardhika when confirmed, Wednesday, March 19.

Tessa said that Rasamala, who was summoned as a witness by investigators, was also asked to attend the search process. This activity has not been further detailed.

Meanwhile, Rasamala was prevented from leaving the country with Febri Diansyah and Donal Fariz when the KPK investigated the extortion and gratification case that ensnared SYL.

This prevention was carried out when Rasamala and Febri became SYL's attorneys. Meanwhile Donal Fariz admitted that he did not take part in the work.

As previously reported, former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo is still a suspect in alleged money laundering. This step was taken after the KPK developed cases of extortion and acceptance of gratuities that ensnared him.

In this case, the anti-corruption commission has confiscated a number of assets that Syahrul allegedly bought with money from corruption. Among them is a white-twisted Mitsubishi Sport Dakar hidden in an empty land in the Makassar area, South Sulawesi.
