A great fire hit a warteg on Jalan Raya Serpong, Pakulonan, North Serpong, South Tangerang City (Tangsel) on Wednesday morning, March 19. The incident claimed the life of a boy with the initials A (8) who was roasted to death at the scene.
The Commander of the South Tangerang Fire Department (Danton), Imam, revealed that this fateful incident occurred when the victim was fast asleep.
"One victim died. When the incident happened, he was sleeping," said Imam when confirmed, Wednesday, March 19.
This incident began when a warteg customer named Budi was enjoying his food. In the midst of his activities, Budi smelled smoke coming from the 2nd floor of the warteg.
After leaving the warteg, Budi saw that the 2nd floor was on fire. He also saw that three people were trapped on the 2nd floor, namely Naprilihin (55), Sutriani (42), and Salsabila (14).
"The witness helped the victim consisting of husband, wife and daughter who were trapped on the 2nd floor by jumping and being arrested by Budi," explained Imam.
