Kremlin Confirms Putin-Trump Talks Are Planned Today

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and United States President Donald Trump were being prepared to be held today.

"Yes, that's the case," he said, answering TASS's question as quoted March 17.

"Such talks are being prepared on Tuesday," the spokesman added.

Earlier, President Trump told reporters he planned to hold talks with the Russian president on Tuesday.

According to the White House leader, he intends to pay special attention to territorial issues and infrastructure within the framework of the Ukraine conflict.

Earlier, the last telephone conversation between President Putin and President Trump took place on February 12.

For an hour and a half, the leaders of the two countries discussed Ukraine's issues, as well as issues that accumulated in relations between the two countries.

The presidents of Russia and the US then agreed to continue contact, including holding face-to-face meetings. As part of this agreement, Trump's special envoy, Steve Witkoff, visited President Putin in Moscow last week.
