Regarding The Democratic Lawsuit, Bawaslu Pesawaran Gives Three Days Of Repair

Bawaslu Pesawaran gave three days to settle the election dispute filed by the Democratic Party in the re-election (PSU) in the district.

"We have held a plenary meeting on the lawsuit filed by the Democratic party regarding the registration of candidates at the Pesawaran PSU," said Chairman of Bawaslu Pesawaran Fatihunnajah, as reported by ANTARA.

He stated that based on the results of the plenary meeting as well as formal and material verification of the application documents, the election dispute resolution lawsuit was declared complete.

"However, some discrepancies were found over the lawsuit filed," he said.

He explained that as the rules for resolving disputes, applicants in election disputes must consist of candidates or candidate pairs.

"The petition submitted by the Democratic Party did not meet these provisions, because it was not submitted directly by the candidate pair," he said.

He also said that Bawaslu Pesawaran had submitted the results of the verification of the lawsuit to the Democratic Party and they were given three days to make improvements.

"The Petitioner can submit the results of the document repair to the application recipient at the latest on March 17, 2025, during working hours," he said.

For information, the Pesawaran KPU on Monday (10/3) rejected the registration of potential replacement candidates in the election for the Regent and Deputy Regent of Pesawaran Regency in 2024 as a follow-up to the Constitutional Court's Decision on dispute over the election results on behalf of the candidate pair Elin Septiani, SK.G. and Supriyanto, S.P., MM. proposed by the Democratic Party with a total valid vote of 27,882.

However, on the same day the Pesawaran Regency KPU received a registration of replacement candidates in the election for the Regent and Deputy Regent of Pesawaran Regency in 2024 as a follow-up to the Constitutional Court's Decision on dispute over the election results on behalf of the candidate pair Supriyanto, SP, MM and Suriansyah Rhalieb, SPt. proposed by the PPP Party with valid votes 21,242 and Golkar with 32,325 valid votes, bringing the total valid votes to 53,567.
