Gerindra Affirms No Reshuffle Issue, Sri Mulyani Is Safe In Cabinet

JAKARTA - The daily chairman of the Gerindra Party, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, dismissed the meeting between President Prabowo Subianto and Finance Minister Sri Mulyani regarding the cabinet reshuffle plan which was rumored to be held after Eid. Dasco said he had confirmed Prabowo that there was no plan to replace Sri Mulyani in the cabinet.

"Yesterday, all I knew was that the meeting was a breaking of the fast while discussing the current economic situation. And I have also checked with the government that there are no plans for a reshuffle," said Dasco after the Inspection of Oilita at Kramat Jati Market, Friday, March 14.

"And if (confirm) to Mrs. Sri Mulyani also hasn't had time," he continued.

The deputy chairman of the DPR said that the meeting between the two was just breaking the fast with ordinary people who were full of intimacy between the president and his ministers. According to him, the issue of Sri Mulyani's reshuffle is baseless rumors.

"But if you look at yesterday's iftar meeting, which you see in the media the two are full of familiarity, I think the issues that are created outside are baseless issues and make the fasting spirit slack," said Dasco.

Previously, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati met President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Tuesday, March 12, to report the performance of the state budget. The two met for approximately 2 hours, interspersed with a breaking of the fast together.

"Yes, just report about the state budget, and others," said Sri Mulyani after the meeting.

However, Sri Mulyani was reluctant to explain further the contents of her meeting with the President.
