Obstructing Investigations, Hasto Orders Harun Masiku To Submerge Cell Phones To Hide At PTIK

JAKARTA - Secretary General of the PDI-P, Hasto Kristiyanto, was charged with obstructing the investigation into the bribery case for the interim replacement (PAW) of the DPR RI. The form starts from ordering Harun Masiku to submerge his cell phone and hide in the Police College (PTIK).

The indictment was read out by the Public Prosecutor (JPU) during the trial which was held at the Jakarta Corruption Court, Friday, March 14.

"That has intentionally committed acts of preventing, obstructing or thwarting directly or indirectly investigating the suspect Harun Masiku," said the KPK prosecutor during the trial.

The first form of obstruction that Hasto allegedly carried out was to inform Harun Masiku that the KPK had carried out a hand arrest operation (OTT).

Then, Hasto also ordered Harun Masiku to submerge his cell phone. The goal is that his whereabouts are not traced. Hasto made the order to Harun through Nur Hasan.

"Following up on the defendant's order (Hasto Kristiyanto) and with the help of Nurhasan, at 18.52 WIB Harun Masiku's cell phone was not active and was not tracked," said the prosecutor.

Hasto is also said to have obstructed the investigation process when he was about to arrest Harun Masiku. At that time, investigators had known about his whereabouts through the tracking of Nurhasan's cell phone.

To the knowledge of Hasto, the two of them had been around the Sofyan Cut Meutia Hotel to the PTIK Complex. At that time, at the same time Kusnadi as a confidant of Hasto was also observed to be in the same location.

"Then the KPK officers came to PTIK but were unable to find Harun Masiku," said the prosecutor.

On that basis, Hasto Kristiyanto's actions allegedly violated Article 21 of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption.
