JAKARTA - The pile of diesel tanks in the MRT project, Jalan Pemuda 1, RT 04/02, Rawamangun Village, Pulogadung District, East Jakarta, caught fire on Tuesday, March 11, evening.

The fire incident was reported at around 20.15 WIB to the East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. office.

After receiving the report, as many as 11 fire engines were deployed to the location for the process of extinguishing the fire.

"There were 55 personnel deployed to the location. The fire was extinguished at 20.18 a.m. and was extinguished at 20.30 p.m. local time," said Head of East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept., Abdul Wahid.

Wahid said the object burned was a pile of diesel at the scene.

The cause is suspected to be due to welding, then welding sparks hit three tank drums containing diesel fuel.

"The area burned was 1x2 meters, the tank contained 500 liters of diesel. The loss was around 10 million rupiah," he said.

Currently, the process of extinguishing the fire has been completed. There were no casualties or injuries as a result of the fire incident.
