BANDUNG - The West Java Regional Police (Polda) has uncovered a case of the circulation of Minya Kita cooking oil which is not in accordance with Indonesia's national standards (SNI) and a clean heavy dose.
The Head of Public Relations of the West Java Police, Kombes Jules Abraham Abast, said the case was revealed starting from information that there were business actors producing Minya Kita with production facilities that did not comply with the provisions.
"The suspect deliberately produces and or distributes oil palm oil brand Minya Kita which does not meet SNI," Jules said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, March 10.
He explained from the statement, then investigators from the West Java Police Ditreskrimsus came to the factory that produces Illegal Minya Kitai in Kasomalul District, Subang Regency, in (8/3).
At that location, investigators managed to find a number of evidences that could be secured, including 2,520 empty bottles without labels, 449 boxes of Minyakitan cooking oil, 28 dispensers for filling oil and various other production tools.
"On February 13, investigators visited the TKP in Kasemarang, Subang and arrested suspect K, a resident of Tangerang Regency, Banten. We have examined nine witnesses and three experts," said Jules.
He explained that the modus operandi used by the suspect included the packaging of cooking oil in bottles of only about 760 milliliters, which should contain one liter.
In addition, he said, the suspect did not include a suitable clean weight label and used production facilities that did not meet the standards.
"As a result of this crime, of course indirectly people who buy Minya Kita products that have been produced by these suspects have suffered losses," he said.

Meanwhile, the Director of the Ditreskrimsus of the West Java Police, Kombes Ade Sapari, said that suspect K had experience in producing palm oil for sale. This is because K previously worked at a company that produces legal palm oil as a commissioner.
"What he has produced is approximately 44 tons and then circulated directly to market retailers at prices above HET of IDR 15,700, to IDR 16,000. The profit he earned for a month is IDR 266 million. And he only operates for one month," said Ade.
He said the bottle filled with palm oil was full to one liter in accordance with the provisions. However, the suspect filled the bottle under one liter and sold it using the Minya Kita brand, and sold it at a normal or even more price.
"This suspect has experience in a company that was legal before. So he has machines to fill in packaged oil, as well as cardboard that reads the Minya Kita brand. He distributes it to Subang, West Java, and its surroundings," he said.
