Bawaslu Will Replace The Chairman Of West Bandung Bawaslu Who Is Consistent With Drugs After Receiving A BNN-Police Letter

Chairman of Bawaslu Rahmat Bagja said his party was waiting for an official statement from BNN and Cimahi Police regarding the status of Chairman of West Bandung Bawaslu, Riza Nasrul Falah who was arrested by the police for being caught in a drug case.

If the person concerned is in the process of handling suspected narcotics crimes, Bawaslu will order West Bandung Bawaslu to immediately change chairman.

"If he is detained, then we will ask our friends to change the chairman or plt chairman first by making a plenary session to reform the position of chairman," said Bagja, Monday, March 10.

In addition, Bawaslu will convey information to the DKPP that the person concerned is involved in a criminal act of corruption so that it needs to be tried ethically. "We will submit it," said Bagja.

Bagja said that his party would not provide legal assistance if the crime was carried out personally.

"If it is related to positions, of course, we will provide legal assistance, but if the alleged individual criminal act does not involve the institution, we will hand it over to the person concerned," said Bagja.

Regarding who will replace Riza Nasrul as Chairman of West Bandung Bawaslu, Bagja admitted that he did not know.

However, Bagja emphasized that the replacement process will be carried out immediately after confirmation and written letter from the police. Including regarding the ethics trial to the DKPP.

"The court's decision or a statement from BNN or the police. If for example the person concerned is rehabilitated, then we are waiting for the letter. Then it goes to criminal, there is no problem with going to court, we wait until we stop the inkrah. If for example it is rehabilitated, we wait for the rehabilitation letter to come out, depending on these two, "explained Bagja.

Bagja also appealed to all Bawaslu members both at the central and regional levels to always be vigilant and improve themselves. Both from mistakes involving individuals and institutions.

"Be vigilant, you have to improve yourself if there are mistakes that are likely to occur or improve yourself if there are mistakes experienced. Hopefully there will be improvements from friends, hopefully no one will be involved in narcotics abuse," he concluded.

It is known that the Head of West Bandung Bawaslu, Riza Nasrul Falah, was arrested by the police for being caught in a drug case. For his actions, Riza and two of his fellow users were charged with Article 112 paragraph (1) in conjunction with 127 of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics. The maximum penalty is 4 years in prison

Meanwhile, three dealers, namely SP, AP, and EKS, were charged with Article 114 paragraph (2) and/or Article 112 paragraph (2) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics. They face imprisonment for a minimum of 5 years and a maximum of life, with a fine of at least IDR 1 billion and a maximum of IDR 10 billion.
