JAKARTA PT Pertamina (Persero) through its subsidiary, Patra Jasa, is taking strategic steps by building an international research center in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN). This project is expected to be a driving force for the development of a research and innovation ecosystem in the IKN area, in line with the vision of a smart and sustainable city.

Deputy for Funding and Investment of the IKN Authority, Agung Wicaksono, appreciated Pertamina's initiative, which is one of the pioneers in this project. The research center will be located in the 1B Development Area (WP), precisely in the Edutown area, which will later develop into a WP Research and Innovation (WP6) at IKN.

"This project is a concrete step in accelerating the development of research and innovation in IKN. We hope this project can attract more investors in the education, research and green energy sectors," said Agung, quoted from ANTARA, Sunday, March 10.

In this project, Pertamina through Patra Jasa established a strategic partnership with Bakrie Group to invite international investors, especially in the education, research and innovation sectors. The main focus of this research center is the development of green energy and sustainability (green energy & sustainability), which supports IKN as an environmentally friendly world-class city.

As a form of legal certainty for investors, the IKN Authority and Patra Jasa have signed a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) for land utilization in IKN. This step is considered to be a strong signal for the business world that the investment climate in IKN is increasingly conducive and ready to develop.

"We appreciate Pertamina's steps in groundbreaking IKN in June 2024. This commitment shows Pertamina's readiness in realizing the Nusantara Sustainability Hub, which will be the center of innovation and green energy research," added Agung.

President Director of Patra Jasa, Ray SM Daulay, said that the Nusantara Sustainability Hub will have four main added points, namely:

- Net Zero-oriented Buildings will be developed with low energy sources of emissions, supporting the zero carbon emission target.- Technological Leadership Facilities built will improve the skills and capabilities of Indonesian human resources in the fields of research and innovation.- Environmental Aspects 20 percent of the land will be allocated as green areas for flora and fauna conservation.- Commercial Aspects Green architecture design with the latest technology creates an energy-efficient and environmentally friendly environment.

As a leading project at IKN, the Nusantara Sustainability Hub is expected to be a center of innovation that attracts global investors and strengthens Indonesia's position in the development of green energy and sustainability.
