Deputy Head Of Commission XIII DPR: We Don't Interfere In Legal Processes At The AGO, But We Must Save Pertamina

Deputy Chairman of Commission XII of the House of Representatives, Putri Zulkifli Hasan, emphasized that his party would not intervene in the legal process that was running at the Attorney General's Office regarding the corruption case of crude oil management at PT Pertamina.

However, Putri said, the DPR continues to encourage Pertamina to be saved from the individuals who damaged the institution.

"We do not interfere in the legal process, it is the authority of law enforcement. However, what needs to be remembered is that we must save Pertamina," said Putri Zulhas, Friday, March 7.

"Do not let the actions of these individuals damage people's trust in Pertamina which is a strategic asset of the state," he said.

The chairman of the PAN faction of the DPR stated that his party fully supports law enforcement by the AGO, which is currently working with the BPK to calculate how much state losses were due to corruption in crude oil management and refinery products at PT Pertamina Subholding and KKKS in the 2018'2023 period.

"We fully support the ongoing legal process and believe in the professionalism of the Attorney General's Office," said Putri.

Putri also emphasized that there were no plans to form a Special Committee (Pansus) at Commission XII regarding this case.

"There is no Special Committee in Commission XII, because this is the realm of law enforcement. Don't be consumed by unclear issues, let the law work," he said.

Putri also reminded Pertamina's case to be a momentum for improving national energy governance.

"This is the time to clean up. We will continue to oversee so that energy governance becomes better, more transparent, and accountable," he concluded.
