Visit PP Muhammadiyah, The Hajj Organizing Body Asks For Advice

JAKARTA - The Hajj Organizing Agency (BP Hajj) visited the Muhammadiyah Central Leadership (PP) to seek advice and support in improving the quality of Hajj in the future.

During a meeting at Muhammadiyah University Jakarta, the Head of BP Haji RI Moch. Irfan Yusuf, who was accompanied by Deputy Head of the Dahnil Agency, Anzar Simanjuntak and his staff, emphasized his commitment to carry out this mandate optimally.

"With this collaboration, we hope that the implementation of the Hajj can be more professional and in line with the expectations of the President and Indonesian Muslims," said Irfan Yusuf, Friday, March 7, as quoted by Antara.

Meanwhile, Deputy Head of BP Haji RI Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak said President Prabowo Subianto emphasized the importance of reform in Hajj management, focusing on efficiency and professionalism.

"BP Haji has prepared an EMAN (Efficient, Safe, Comfortable) strategy as well as a successful tri vision, namely successful rituals, successful Hajj economic ecosystems, and successful civilizations," he said.

During this meeting, Muhammadiyah's support for the revision of Law No. 8 of 2019 concerning the Implementation of Hajj and Umrah was also discussed so that BP Haji RI could optimally carry out its duties in full according to the President's mandate.

In addition, the discourse on the implementation of Dam in Indonesia as a solution to various obstacles in Saudi Arabia, is discussed in order to optimize the benefits that people in the country can directly feel.

Chairman of PP Muhammadiyah Haedar Nashir welcomed BP Haji RI's commitment and emphasized the importance of mature hajj management, given its complexity which includes aspects of sharia, social, economic and political.

"Hajj is not only worship, but also part of the religious identity of Indonesian Muslims. Therefore, optimal sharia guidance and professional governance are needed," he said.

Haedar also emphasized the importance of transparency in the management of hajj funds, given the large turnover of funds and involvement of various stakeholders.

From a political perspective, he highlighted that organizing Hajj involves government policies, the role of the DPR, and diplomacy with Saudi Arabia, so that it requires more professional management.

In addition, Haedar emphasized that behind all of that, the biggest theological ideals of Muslims everywhere are pilgrimages. Therefore, the implementation of Hajj must be managed with a good system and cannot be done instantly.

"In this context, BP Haji RI has received greater hopes to present better Hajj arrangements, including unraveling the increasing queues of pilgrims, especially with the majority of prospective pilgrims aged 50 years and over," said Haedar.
