The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) stated that the main road connecting the southern region of Cianjur, precisely in Cibinong District, which was cut off due to landslides, could be passed normally from both directions, Friday, March 7.

Head of BPBD Cianjur Asep Kusmanawijaya said two heavy equipment were deployed to get rid of the 15-meter-long landslide material that closed the road runway, so that Friday morning the route had reopened.

"The high level of landslide material in the form of various sizes of stones and trees has made heavy equipment officers work until morning, so that road access that was cut off alternately can be passed because heavy equipment is still working," he said in Cianjur Friday, March 7, which was confiscated by Antara.

Although, it is normal for motorists to ask motorists to increase their vigilance when crossing along the southern Cianjur main route or vice versa because it is prone to disasters, especially when it rains heavily with high intensity.

Especially at this time, the handling of landslides has not been maximized, so it is still prone to further landslides if it rains again, to urge motorists to alert several volunteers to carry out surveillance with police officers.

"We hope that no more disasters will occur, but anticipation and preparedness must be increased because the BMKG information on rainfall is still high until mid-March," he said.

Meanwhile, regarding road access being flooded in Sindangbarang District, he said, currently it has receded and traffic flow can pass normally from both directions, no residents have fled even though their houses were submerged in floods as high as adult thighs.

"The number of houses that were flooded in Sindangbarang is still being collected by officers, but the temporary information is that 50 houses were submerged and dozens of others were affected, no one fled, but road access was difficult to pass because they were flooded," he said.

His party asked residents to remain alert and evacuate immediately if they saw the river's water discharge starting to increase to climb to the village, in order to avoid unwanted things.
