Bogor City Government And Ministry Of Transportation Discuss Permanent Longsor Solutions In Batutulis

BOGOR - Bogor City Government (Pemkot) held a meeting with the Director of Railway Infrastructure, Hengki Angkasawan, who was present with the Head of the West Java Region Railway Engineering Center (BTP Bandung), Endang Setiawan, at Paseban Punta, Bogor City Hall, Thursday 6 March.

The meeting was held to follow up on permanent steps to deal with landslides on Saleh Danasasmita Street, Batutuli Village, Bogor City.

The Mayor of Bogor, Dedie A. Rachim, explained that the Director of Railway Infrastructure and BTP Bandung had conducted a brief study regarding the avalanche that occurred on Tuesday, March 4.

Based on this study, the landslides that occurred were allegedly caused by the presence of channels or springs, which amounted to more than one.

"Earlier, a meeting with the Director of Infrastructure from the Ministry of Transportation and also the Head of the West Java Railway Engineering Center, yes. Indeed, they have carried out a kind of brief or early research related to landslides that occurred on Jalan Saleh Danasasmita. It is suspected that there are waterways or springs, which are not only one number, but there are three," said Dedie A. Rachim after the meeting.

Therefore, Dedie A. Rachim added that technically, this needs to be studied more deeply regarding the possibility of handling steps for the normalization or return of the Saleh Danasasmita Road function in the Batutulis area.

"With the alleged waterways under the road location, there is also the possibility that we are looking for other alternative routes," he said.

Dedie A. Rachim also revealed that if you have to look for other alternative routes, it is based on the alleged existence of springs or flows of water in the area.

If this flow of springs is added to the burden of vehicles, then unstable soil conditions have the potential to cause another disaster in the future.

"That's what we don't want. We don't have to rehabilitate or take temporary treatment steps every year. If possible, the settlement must be permanent for the medium and long term," he said.

Because, according to Dedie A. Rachim, this step will be the most ideal choice for Bogor City.

"This is what we have to think about technically, which one is the most efficient. And because this is an emergency, the steps that must be taken must be immediately and comprehensively," he concluded.
