Polda Metro Jaya Arrests Two Perpetrators Of The Theft Of Tire Gembos Mode In Cilincing

JAKARTA The Mobile Investigation Sub-Directorate (Resmob) of the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation of the Metro Jaya Police managed to arrest two perpetrators of theft using the tire kinging mode in action in Cilincing, North Jakarta, on Monday, February 17.

Head of Sub-Directorate for Resmob Polda Metro Jaya, AKBP Resa Fiardi Marasabessy, revealed that two perpetrators with the initials AR (41) and MF (38) were arrested at their boarding house on Jalan Raya Pomad, Keradenan Kaum Pandak, Cibinong, Bogor Regency.

The theft incident occurred on Monday, February 17 at around 10:00 WIB. At that time, the victim with the initials ABP (32) had just taken Rp250 million from a private bank at the Kramat branch, North Jakarta.

On the way, the victim felt the rear tire on the left side of his car was flat when he was at the T-junction of Yon Ang Air, North Jakarta. He then continued his journey to find a tire repairman on Jalan Sungai Berantas, in front of Indomaret, Semper Barat Village, Cilincing District.

When the victim was changing tires, a tire repairman shouted "The thief!" after seeing the perpetrator opening the right side of the car door and taking two brown envelopes containing the money the victim put on the front left side of the car.

Head of Unit 4 of the Resmob Sub-Directorate of the Ditreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya, Iptu Aditya Rizky, explained that the two perpetrators had been targeting victims since leaving the bank. They then followed the victim's car until they got the opportunity to act.

"Once the car stopped at a red light, the perpetrator wrapped the tires with a knife and modified nails," Aditya said, quoted from ANTARA, Thursday, March 6.

The two perpetrators have now been taken to Sub-Directorate 3 Tahbang/Resmob of the Ditreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya for further investigation.

For their actions, they were charged with Article 362 of the Criminal Code concerning theft, with a maximum imprisonment of five years.
