JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has completed the investigation into the alleged bribery and obstruction of the investigation that ensnared the Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto. The case file has been transferred to the public prosecutor today, Thursday, March 6.

"The suspect and evidence from investigators have been carried out to the general investigator of the HK suspect case," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardhika to reporters in a written statement, Thursday, March 6.

The prosecutor has 14 days to prepare an indictment. Then, case files, evidence, and other files were transferred to the Jakarta Corruption Court.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the PDIP DPP who is also Hasto's lawyer, Ronny B. Talapessy, accused the KPK of maneuvering to avoid pretrial at the South Jakarta District Court (PN). This suspicion has actually existed since the anti-corruption commission's legal bureau was not present at the trial.

"We see that what the KPK did today, this is what we have seen our suspicions that it wants to accelerate this case to avoid pretrial," said Ronny in a written statement quoted on Thursday, March 6.

Ronny said the KPK should respect the ongoing pretrial process. Delegation to the Jakarta Corruption Court should be carried out after the decision was made by the South Jakarta District Court.

"Yes, if you refer to the decision of the Constitutional Court, of course you must first respect the existing pretrial, before there is a schedule for the first trial to read the indictment," he said.

Ronny visited the KPK office on Wednesday, March 5 yesterday. He as Hasto's legal team submitted an objection letter after receiving information that the politician's case file would be transferred to court.

Previously reported, the KPK developed an interim replacement bribery (PAW) case that ensnared former KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan and his fugitive, Harun Masiku. Two people were later named as suspects, namely PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto and Donny Tri Istiqomah who are PDIP cadres as well as lawyers.

Hasto is also a suspect in the obstruction of the investigation. He is suspected of trying to obstruct the legal process, one of which is by asking Harun to damage his cellphone and run away after the arrest operation (OTT) was carried out.

Now, Hasto has been detained for the first 20 days at the KPK detention center since last Thursday, February 20. This forced effort can be extended according to the needs of investigators.

Meanwhile, Donny Tri Istiqomah has not been arrested. However, investigators have examined him on February 3.
