JAKARTA - Floods as high as 4 meters that had inundated Jalan Cililitan Kecil 1, RW 07, Cililitan Village, Kramat Jati District, East Jakarta, finally gradually receded on Wednesday, March 5, noon.

Based on VOI monitoring at the location, the flood inundation that occurred on Jalan Cililitan Kecil 1, Cililitan Village, has receded and only a number of wood and mud waste remains scattered on the road.

"Alhamdulillah, for Jalan Cililitan Kecil, the water has receded or dried up. Only mud remains attached to the asphalt of the road," said Dior, a local resident affected by the flood.

Dior added that although the waterways had receded, there were still 2 other RTs that were flooded.

A number of houses in the 2 RTs are in an alley with land conditions that tend to decline or basins.

"In the alley that is close to the Ciliwung River, there are still 2 RTs that are flooded as high as 200 cm. The reason is because of the overflow of the Ciliwung river," he added.

Although some houses are still experiencing flooding, almost all local residents have come to their homes to clean up the mud.

"Some have cleaned up the mud due to being carried away by the flood in their house, some have checked the goods in their house even though the water is still inundating the area in their house. It is still varied here," he said.
