Minister Of Social Affairs Affirms Budget For The National Commission For Disabilities Remaining Rp500 Million Hoaxes

JAKARTA - Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf reiterated the information that stated that the remaining National Commission for Disabilities (KND) budget was Rp. 500 million due to efficiency policy, which was fake news (hoax).

He also explained that the National Commission for Disabilities budget ceiling was around Rp. 6.9 billion.

"The result of the efficiency is only Rp. 3.1 billion," said Social Minister Saifullah, who is also familiarly called Gus Ipul, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, March 3.

Gus Ipul then explained that the efficiency of reaching half of the ceiling targets shopping posts such as official travel, and other things that do not interfere with the main tasks of the National Commission for Disabilities.

Previously, the Minister of Social Affairs also denied reports that the remaining budget for the National Commission for Disabilities was Rp. 500 million due to efficiency policies. He said the exact amount was around Rp. 3 billion, more than the budget allocation of around Rp. 6 billion.

Gus Ipul said that social assistance (bansos) and therapy from the Ministry of Social Affairs for persons with disabilities are still distributed and not reduced, even though there is budget efficiency.

"For social assistance with disabilities, then therapy services for people with disabilities, nothing is reduced at all. Even at 30 of our centers, yesterday I checked with Palembang, South Sumatra, and all kinds of services for people with disabilities all the way," said the Minister of Social Affairs.

Not only that, services from medical personnel and assistants for friends with disabilities also continue to run normally.

"Then those who serve, be it medical personnel, or companions also run, because the cost for the service is also not reduced. So I need to convey this, for services for people with disabilities, social assistance for people with disabilities, then the main tasks for KND are still given and not reduced," continued Gus Ipul.

Saifullah again emphasized that the social assistance provided directly to the community was not reduced, and the operational budget attached to social assistance such as distribution costs was not reduced. He added that the salaries of employees and accompanying honorariums during the year also did not decrease.

Finally, Gus Ipul emphasized that the budget efficiency policy did not reduce the quality, performance, work spirit of the employees, and did not interfere with public services.
