JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Home Affairs (Wamendagri) Bima Arya said that the planning and budgeting for the 2024 regional head series from the 2024 regional elections in Magelang, Central Java, was carried out in accordance with existing regulations.

Bima said this was in response to a report by the Anti-Corruption Civil Society Coalition regarding allegations of corruption in the implementation of the regional head recruitment to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

"God willing, we will ensure that the planning process, budgeting, and the use of the implementation budget are all in accordance with the rules," Bima said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, March 3.

Bima explained that the regional head retret budget came from the state budget (APBN), while the transportation of regional heads to the retret location came from the regional budget (APBD).

Meanwhile, regarding the selection of the retreat location in the Military Academy Tidar Valley, Magelang, Central Java, Bima explained that it was like renting a place. According to him, this method is also carried out for other debriefing activities.

When renting a place for activities, this can be a direct system like that. Even so in the past, when there was a briefing, sometimes it was placed in training, sometimes in hotels, events. It's normal like that. This time it's the place there. And those who are able to hold the semi-massive event, yes, the location is there," he said.

Bima is grateful for the criticism and supervision carried out by civil society through the report. He also said that his party was ready to be audited.

"We make sure that everything is transparent and everything is in accordance with the rules. Everything uses the state budget and everything is ready to be audited. So, we make sure that nothing is not in accordance with the rules," said Bima.

Previously, the Anti-Corruption Civil Society Coalition reported allegations of corruption in the implementation of a retret or briefing of regional heads resulting from the 2024 Pilkada to the KPK, Friday (28/2).

Constitutional law expert from Andalas University Feri Amsari, as one of the representatives of the coalition, said that his party suspected that the regional head recruitment was not in accordance with the laws and regulations.

In addition, the Anti-Corruption Civil Society Coalition also highlighted the appointment of PT Lembah Tidar as the executor of the retreat because it was suspected of having a correlation with power.
