KPK Alleges LPEI Had Met The Board Of Directors Of PT Petro Energy Before Giving Credit

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) revealed that there was a meeting between the Indonesian Export Financing Agency (LPEI) and PT Petro Energy before the credit was given.

This was conveyed by the Acting Director of KPK Investigation Budi Sokmo when announcing the suspect in the alleged corruption in the provision of credit facilities by the Indonesian Export Financing Agency (LPEI). Currently only five people have been named in this case.

Those charged were Dwi Wahyudi as Managing Director I of LPEI; Arif Setiawan as Managing Director IV of LPEI; Jimmy Masrin as President Director of PT Caturkarsa Megatunggal or President Commissioner of PT Petro Energy; Newin Nugroho as President Director of PT Petro Energy and Susy Mira Dewi Sugiarta who is Finance Director of PT Petro Energy.

"Indeed, at the beginning before the loan process was carried out between the directors of PT PE, who had been named suspects, the two people had a meeting," Budi told reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Monday, March 3.

"(The meeting took place, ed) with the President Director with the initials NN and the commissioner or owner of PT PE, brother GM, at the PT PE office," he continued.

From the meeting, it was agreed that lending would be made easier, Budi said. In fact, the company should not be eligible for facilities from LPEI due to poor financial health conditions.

In addition, there were a number of frauds committed by PT Petro Energy to get credit financing from LPEI. Among them, said Budi, there were counterfeit invoices or bills.

"This is all fake, all of which have been confirmed from witnesses and documents that we found or electronic evidence from the cloning device-device that we found both from cellphones and from conversations. All te-records that invoices and purchase orders made by PT PE to disburse credit are fake or fictitious," he explained.

Then PT Petro Energy also apparently did not distribute the credit for the diesel fuel business business as proposed. "But instead it is used to invest in other businesses," he said.

"And actually this has been known by the LPEI directors, but because from the start they have agreed that this has never been heeded," concluded Budi.
