JAKARTA - A number of ministries, institutions, and local governments will hold free homecoming programs on this year's Eid. From that condition, there needs to be coordination between institutions in the implementation of free homecoming.

This was revealed by the Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Dudy Purwagandhi after a coordination meeting with the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung.

"We are coordinating so that the buses used can be utilized optimally, so there are no empty buses because our people have a double list," said Dudy at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Monday, March 3.

Dudy explained that the government will use one application to use all homecoming providers for free. This is done to prevent double free homecoming registrants.

"We are trying to enter it into one program. Later the Ministry of Transportation will introduce an application for the organizers. So that it can be made for double checks for travelers who carry out ordering procedures," explained Dudy.

Based on data, last year many people registered for free homecoming for more than one organizer. Thus, this results in the recorded quota being unused. Many buses that depart on empty seats.

"This is what we are avoiding. So, using as much as possible all free homecoming programs carried out by the ministries of local governments and institutions. Likewise the private sector," said Dudy.

"Because usually bookings convey identity, this is what we coordinate, we synchronize, so there is no double registration," he added.
