Driver Allegedly Lalai To Lindas An Elderly While Passing On Jalan Raya Bandung-Cianjur

CIANJUR - Police Resort Cianjur, West Java, is investigating the death of an elderly woman who was run over by a bus on Jalan Raya Bandung-Cianjur. The driver with the initials ER (45) has now been detained for further investigation.

Head of Gakkum Satlantas Cianjur Police, Ipda Ika Cakra, said that before the victim was run over, the bus first hit the motorbike driven by AP (65) with ER's wife (57) and their grandson SS.

"While passing on Jalan Raya Bandung-Cianjur, precisely in Hegarmanah Village, Karangtengah District, the bus tried to overtake the vehicle in front of it, but was not careful so that it grazed the motorcycle with the number F 5743 WQ driven by AP," he said in Cianjur as quoted by Antara, Sunday, March 2.

Motorcyclists and motorbike passengers bounced several meters while the bodies of ER victims who bounced into the bottom of the bus were run over, while AP and SS were seriously injured.

The driver was judged not to be careful and negligent when he was about to overtake the vehicle in front of him, so he grazed a motorcycle, and caused one person to die on the spot and two people were injured and taken to the Cianjur Sayang Hospital.

"The victim died and was injured and was taken to the Cianjur Sayang Hospital for medical assistance, two victims AP and SS are still undergoing medical assistance, while the body of the ER victim is still stored in the hospital morgue," said Ika Cakra.

His party immediately secured the ER bus driver for questioning and witnesses.

"It is possible that the driver was not careful because when he was about to go ahead he did not expect the motorbike in front of him, so he hit the front of the bus and bounced," said an eye witness to the residents around Ridwan (34).
