Threatened With A Fine Of IDR 48 Billion, Kohod Village Head Kubu: The Minister Of KKP Ngaco It

TANGERANG - The attorney for the village head (Kades) of Kohod, Arsin bin Asip, Yunihar, assessed that the statement of the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) Sakti Wahyu Trenggono regarding a fine of Rp48 billion did not make sense or was ridiculous.

"Our response is that the honorable statement from the Minister of KKP is Ngaco," Yunihar said in his statement, Sunday, March 2.

However, Yuniar admitted that he did not want to take any close steps. Because the official letter from the KKP has not been received by his party until now.

"We respect him as his main duties and functions, but until the day of his visit our client does not know and has not received his official notification, we know from the news," said Yunihar.

Furthermore, if the official letter has been received, Yunihar admits that he will try to discuss it first with Arsin about the information on the fines submitted by the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries.

"We will convey and discuss with clients considering that the client is currently in detention," concluded Yunihar.

For previous information, the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, Sakti Wahyu Trenggono, revealed the final results of the investigation into the case of installing the sea fence.

He said the village head of Kohod Arsin bin Asip and his subordinates with the initials T were the people responsible for the fence.

"The perpetrator has admitted and is responsible for installing the sea fence and is willing to pay administrative fines in accordance with applicable regulations," Trenggono said during a working meeting (Raker) with Commission IV of the DPR RI at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, February 27.

For his actions, the KKP imposed a fine of Rp48 billion. The calculation of the sanctions is adjusted to the area and length of the sea fence they built.

Trenggono emphasized that his party had set a deadline of 30 days for the Kohod village head and his staff to settle the payment of the fine.

"The Kohod village head and his staff have expressed their willingness to pay, although until now no payment has been made," concluded Trenggono.
