Weather Forecast March 2: Light Rain In Various Cities, BMKG Reminds Potential Extreme Weather

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) estimates that some areas in Indonesia experienced light rain on Sunday, March 2.

Quoted by ANTARA from BMKG's YouTube show, Sunday, this weather condition is predicted to occur in a number of areas, starting from Sumatra, Java, Bali, Nusa Tenggara, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, to the eastern part of Indonesia.

On the island of Sumatra, light rain is expected to occur in Medan, Pekanbaru, Padang, Jambi, Bengkulu, and Palembang.

Meanwhile, in Java, Serang and Semarang areas also have the potential to experience light rain. In Bali and Nusa Tenggara, Denpasar and Mataram are expected to experience similar weather conditions.

The Kalimantan region does not escape the potential for light rain, especially in Pontianak and Samarinda. On the islands of Sulawesi, Gorontalo and Palu are also expected to experience light rain.

Meanwhile, in eastern Indonesia, Ternate, Sorong, and Ambon are expected to experience the same weather conditions.

Although light rain dominates, some regions in Indonesia also need to be aware of the potential for extreme weather.

BMKG appealed to the people in Pangkal Pinang, Bandar Lampung, Bandung, Yogyakarta, Palangkaraya, Banjarmasin, Kendari, Nabire, Jayawijaya, and Merauke to be aware of the potential for rain accompanied by lightning.

Meanwhile, cloudy and thick cloudy weather is predicted to occur in a number of areas.

In Sumatra, Tanjung Pinang is expected to experience cloudy weather, while Banda Aceh has the potential to be thick cloudy. Meanwhile, on the island of Java, Jakarta is predicted to be thick cloudy.

Next, Kupang is expected to experience cloudy weather, Manado is cloudy, while Makassar is thick cloudy.

In eastern Indonesia, Manokwari is also predicted to experience thick cloudy weather.
