BRIN Values Puan's Presence At The Retret Of Regional Heads For PDIP Representation

JAKARTA - Senior Researcher from the Political Research Center of the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) Lili Romli assessed that the presence of the Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives as well as the Chairperson of the PDI-P (PDIP) DPP Puan Maharani in the training or recruitment of regional heads at the Military Academy, Magelang, is a representation of the party bearing the symbol of a white-nosed bull.

"I think it's a good and good thing that Puan's presence at the closing ceremony of the retreat. Her presence is not only as the chairman of the DPR, I think she can also represent PDIP," said Lili when contacted by ANTARA from Jakarta, Friday, February 28.

This made the tension that had arisen from the impact of the instructions of the General Chairperson of the PDIP Megawati Soekarnoputri so that regional heads from the PDIP postponed participating in the briefing or the retreat had been completed and there were no more problems.

However, according to Lili, the public hopes that the position of PDIP outside the government must be maintained.

The good relations with the President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto and Puan's presence in the briefing / series of regional heads do not have to lead to the unity of the PDIP in the government.

"PDIP remains a strategic partner who controls the government's path so that the check and balances mechanism continues," he said.

Previously, the Chairperson of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, was also present at the dusk parade ceremony at the Retret of Regional Heads at the Military Academy, Magelang, Central Java, Thursday, led by President Prabowo Subianto and attended by the 6th President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and 7th President Joko Widodo.

Puan wore the same Reserve Components (Komcad) uniform as that worn by Prabowo, Jokowi, and Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), as well as the debriefing participants/retret. He also met with the nation's political figures in a room.

After the dusk parade was over, Puan also attended a night of familiarity as well as sharing for regional heads.

The briefing/retret of the head of the first wave of regions, starting Friday (21/2), will officially close after President Prabowo gave a briefing on Friday (28/2).

"I would like to congratulate the governors, mayors, and regents throughout Indonesia who have been inaugurated by President Prabowo Subianto on February 20, 2025 to carry out the task of developing Indonesia in the regions," said Puan.
