Vice President Gibran Emphasized The Importance Of Regional Governments Obeying President Prabowo's Instructions

JAKARTA - Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka reminded all regional heads who took part in the retreat at the Military Academy of Magelang, Central Java, regarding the importance of synergy and collaboration under the command of President Prabowo Subianto.

Gibran assessed that various priority programs for the government could be successful if there was a synergy between the central government and local governments.

"Although our religion, ethnicity, and party are different, we were born into a big family of the archipelago. To manage a country as big as Indonesia, we need strong collaboration, we need close synergy under one command of Mr. President Prabowo," said Gibran when providing briefing to regional heads.

He invited all regional heads to work together in supporting the implementation of government priority programs, including supervising its implementation.

"Priority programs such as free nutritious food, downstreaming, self-sufficiency in energy, food self-sufficiency, and job creation must be supported, we must work together, and we must monitor its implementation," said Gibran.

He gave an example that the success of the free nutritious food program depends on the availability of food stocks from the regions. Therefore, Gibran asked regents, mayors and governors to pay attention to the supply of food in their respective regions and ensure infrastructure that supports the production and distribution of food for the program.

"The availability of foodstuffs in several places is still difficult and expensive. For that, I ask the regional head to monitor and assist the supply chain infrastructure and distribution of nutritious food for free," he told the retret participants.

The regional head recruitment at the Magelang Military Academy took place on February 21-28, 2025 and was led by the Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian. On the sixth day of the retreat, Gibran became the mainnote speaker in a briefing session for regional heads.

During the session, the Vice President spoke about the importance of synergy between the central and regional governments. Gibran also highlighted several priority government programs, including free nutritious meals and stunting elimination.

In addition, he emphasized the active role of regional heads in maintaining tolerance in their respective regions as well as the implementation of effective regional governance by utilizing technology such as e-catalog for the procurement of goods and services.

The briefing session by the Vice President lasted for about 30 minutes, followed by a discussion session inviting regional heads to share the best practices they have implemented in their respective fields.
