Sitting Side By Side, AHY Tempted By Prabowo Will Compete With Gibran And Puan In The Presidential Election

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto teased the Chairman of the Democratic Party, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) who sat side by side with Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka and DPR Speaker Puan Maharani.

As a young figure, Prabowo assessed that the three have the potential to compete in the upcoming presidential election.

"Now side by side, later we can compete," Prabowo said in his speech at the closing ceremony of the Democratic Party's VI Congress, Tuesday, February 25.

According to Prabowo, healthy competition is good for the sustainability of democracy. He also gave an example when he became Joko Widodo's rival in the 2014 and 2019 presidential elections.

"Competing is good, who is number 1, beat number 2, not number 3 right. (But) The President of Indonesia can't talk like that, Pak Jokowi lost me twice," said Prabowo.

"Laughter again. These Indonesians are happy to see people in trouble. I was defeated but he invited me in, I came in too. Sorry, I came in too," continued the General Chairperson of Gerindra.
