Lawyer Ronald Tannur Claims To Be Pressured By Investigators, Judge Will Present Verbalisan Witness

JAKARTA - Ronald Tannur's lawyer, Lisa Rachmat, claimed to have received pressure from investigators during the examination. To prove this confession, the panel of judges will present a verbalisan witness at the next trial.

The judge's decision to present a verbalisan witness was decided after Lisa Rachmat denied the Minutes of Investigation (BAP) containing her statement regarding the handover of the money. It also sparked debate with the Public Prosecutor (JPU).

"The public prosecutor cannot be forced by witnesses to admit it," said the judge during a trial at the Jakarta Corruption Court, Tuesday, February 25.

"Yes, I object," said Lisa in response to the judge's statement.

Thus, the judge ordered the prosecutor to present a verbalisan witness at the next trial.

The verbalisan witness is an investigator who is a witness in a criminal case.

"Please face the verbalisan witness later," said the judge.

"Ready, Your Majesty," replied the prosecutor.

The judge emphasized the presence of a verbalisan witness to prove Lisa Rachmat's statement that she was under pressure during the examination process.

"Is it true what this witness said that he was under pressure or coercion from the investigator who examined him," said the judge.

Lisa Rachmat denied that BAP number 40 was dated November 11, 2024. It contained a series of gifts to Erintuah Damanik regarding the case for the acquittal of Ronald Tannur's case.

During the trial, Lisa said that because of pressure from investigators, she was forced to make false information regarding the handover of money to Erintuah Damanik worth 150 thousand Singapore dollars or SGD.
