The Launch Of The Danantara Momentum To Awaken The Indonesian Economy In The Eyes Of The World

JAKARTA - Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal appreciated the launch of the Anagata Nusantara Resources Investment Management Agency (Danantara) conducted by President Prabowo Subianto. He also hopes that Danantara, which is the sovereign wealth fund of Indonesia, can revive the country's economy.

"We should appreciate the formation of the Danantara Investment Management Agency. The inauguration of the Danantara by President Prabowo Subianto is a momentum to revive the Indonesian economy in the eyes of the world," said Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal, Monday, February 24.

As is known, President Prabowo inaugurated BPI Danantara today at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta. Cucun was also present at the launch of the Danantara.

The Danantara was formed after the revision of Law (UU) Number 19 of 2003 concerning State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) was agreed upon by the DPR at the beginning of last month. The Danantara was formed through the issuance of Government Regulation number 10 of 2025 concerning Organization and Governance of the Anagata Nusantara Power Investment Management Agency.

On the same occasion, President Prabowo also signed Presidential Decree (Keppres) Number 30 of 2025 concerning the Appointment of the Supervisory Board and the Implementing Body of the Indonesian Danantara Investment Management Agency. Cucun hopes that Danantara can bring progress to the Indonesian nation and people.

"Hopefully Danantara can make a large multiplier effect in the Indonesian economy and drive the local economy," said the legislator from the West Java II electoral district.

The name Danantara itself was given directly by President Prabowo Subianto in which Daya means energy, Aagasta means the future, and Nusantara refers to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, which as a whole reflects the strength and potential of Indonesia's future.

"With this spirit, I personally hope that Danantara's vision can be achieved to become a leading state investment manager and can encourage the country's economic transformation," said Cucun.

"And by growing the body of the Sovereign Wealth Fund on a world scale, of course we hope that Danantara can support national development and create prosperity for all Indonesian people," he added.

Through Danantara, for the first time the management of SOEs in Indonesia will be managed in one holding of a large company. Danantara will manage BUMN Dividends as one of the state's assets so that they can advance Indonesia.

Danantara as the sovereign wealth fund agency Indonesia will focus on consolidating and optimizing government investments in order to accelerate Indonesia's economic transformation and improve people's welfare. Danantara's mission is also to optimize and manage SOE assets to create significant added value.
