Sukabumi Health Office Admits Budget For PDGJ Handling In Regency Is Only IDR 27 Million/Year

SUKABUMI - The Sukabumi District Health Office, West Java, recognizes that the budget for handling people with mental disorders (ODGJ) in local districts is only IDR 27 million every year.

"The budget is used to take drugs to the West Java Provincial Government, record, report and visit ODGJ patients," said Sukabumi District Health Office Head Agus Sanusi in Sukabumi, quoted from Antara, Monday, February 24.

According to Agus, the budget for handling ODGJ at the Health Office can indeed be said to be minimal. However, this ODGJ is not only handled in one service, but is also budgeted in several agencies such as the Sukabumi Regency Social Service.

However, his party did not know how much the total budget for handling ODGJ was.

Therefore, to maximize the existing budget, his party always coordinates with other agencies, both with agencies within the Sukabumi Regency Government, the police, volunteers, and non-governmental organizations.

Handling ODGJ cases must be carried out jointly with the community and strengthening all relevant policy makers. Thus, ODGJ sufferers can get adequate treatment and social support.

In addition, special facilities and supporters to handle ODGJ are still minimal, so far the handling of ODGJ from Sukabumi Regency has collaborated with the Palalamarta Social Rehabilitation Center for Mental Disabilities (BRSPDM), which is the Technical Service Unit (UPT) of the Ministry of Social Affairs.

Then, Marzoeki Mahdi Hospital, R Syamsudin SH Hospital, Sukabumi City (Bulut Hospital), Aura Welas Asih Mental Rehabilitation Center and others.

"In Sukabumi Regency, it is necessary to build an inpatient room and other facilities to treat and rehabilitate ODGJ patients," he added.

Agus said that in order not to happen again cases such as Suherlan alias Samson, a resident of Cihurang Village, Cidadap Village, Simpenan District, Sukabumi Regency who died by the masses on Thursday (20/2), his party would increase supervision and provide socialization to the community.

Then, coordinate with the relevant agencies so that the handling of ODGJ can be faster, so that in the future there will be no more ODGJs combined, mobs and others.
