Monday Morning, President Prabowo Launches Danantara At The Jakarta Palace

Deputy for Protocol, Press and Media of the Presidential Secretariat, Yusuf Permana, said the launch was the beginning of the transformation of national strategic investment management.

"This is also a manifestation of the government's commitment to realizing Astacita, a big vision in lifting the Indonesian economy to a more advanced level through sustainable and inclusive investment," said Yusuf Permana as quoted by ANTARA.

Yusuf explained that the launch of the Danantara would be open to the public.

Previously, President Prabowo first announced the planned launch of Danantara while speaking at the World Governments Summit on February 14, 2025. At that time, he revealed that Danantara would be inaugurated on February 24, 2025.

Danantara akan berfungsi sebagai sovereign wealth fund Indonesia dengan target mengelola aset senilai lebih dari US$900 miliar. Untuk tahap awal, dana yang dikelola diperkirakan mencapai US$20 miliar.

Presiden menyatakan dana tersebut akan digunakan untuk mendanai proyek-proyek berkelanjutan yang memiliki dampak besar di berbagai sektor, seperti energi terbarukan, manufaktur canggih, industri hilir, dan produksi pangan.

"Danantara is a source of energy for the future that we must protect together. Therefore, I ask all former presidents to participate in supervising the management of these funds. I am also considering that NU leaders, Muhammadiyah, KWI, and other organizations play a role in monitoring," Prabowo said last week.
