TANGERANG- Victims of document forgery asked the authorities to reject the suspension of detention of the Head of Wanakerta Village, Sindang Jaya District, Tangerang Regency, Tumpang Sugian, who is currently being held at the Class I Detention Center in Tangerang, Tangerang Regency.

The head of Wanakerta Village, Sindang Jaya District, Tangerang Regency, Tumpang Sugian, has been named by the Banten Police as a suspect in the case of falsifying land documents.

Head of the Intelligence Section of the Tangerang District Attorney's Office, Doni Saputra, explained that Tumpang was the prosecutor's detainee after his case file was declared complete or P21.

"Phase 2 has been carried out from investigators to the public prosecutor, currently it has been entrusted to the Jambe Detention Center (Tangerang)," he told reporters, Thursday, February 20, 2024.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Tangerang Class I Detention Center, King Muhamad Ismael Novadiansyah, said that Tumpang had undergone the process of receiving and registering as a new prisoner.

"After that, Tumpang was placed in the Mapenaling block containing 24 new prisoners. All new prisoners participated in the Mapenaling activities that had been prepared," he explained.

The existence of information related to the detention of Tumpang Sugian provides fresh air for the victims.

However, the attorney for one of the victims, Abraham Nempung, confirmed that he and his client, Nurmalia, had asked law enforcement officials not to grant Tumpang's request for a suspension of detention.

He also asked that the legal process run properly and did not provide a gap for Tumpang to obtain a suspension of detention.

"Of course we ask for no suspension of detention, because we will be very disappointed if that happens. Here it is clear, Tumpang is threatened with Article 263 of the Criminal Code and Article 266 of the Criminal Code, which carries a sentence of more than six years. There should be no more room for suspension," he said when met in the Tangerang Regency area, Thursday, February 20, 2025.

If the suspension of detention is granted by the prosecutor's office, Abraham said his party will send a letter of rejection.

"If it is granted, we will write to the prosecutor's office," he said.

Previously, the Head of Wanakerta Village, Sindang Jaya District, Tangerang Regency, Tumpang Sugian, had been named by the Banten Police as a suspect in the case of falsifying land documents.

Tumpang Sugian became a suspect after being suspected of falsifying the land property rights statement document.

As a result of his actions, the land owner reported the village head to the police until he was finally arrested.

Head of Sub-Directorate II Harda Bangtah Ditreskrimum Banten Police, AKBP Mirodin, said that based on the results of the case title, Tumpang Sugian was named a suspect and was immediately detained on Tuesday, September 3, 2024.

"We summoned Tumpang as a witness, then an increase in his status as a suspect based on the title of the case. So, we detained him this morning," Mirodin told reporters by telephone.

Based on the information obtained by investigators, Tumpang Sugian as the village head is suspected of having falsified a statement of land ownership rights.

The statement letter became the basis for the issuance of a land certificate covering an area of 3,000 square meters in its name. However, the real land owner, Nurmalia, only found out about this in 2022 while participating in the Complete Systematic Land Registration program (PTSL).

When registering, Nurmalia was surprised that the land had actually been made a certificate in the name of Tumpang Sugian without his knowledge.

Feeling aggrieved, Nurmalia then reported cases of forgery and land grabbing to the Banten Police on March 20, 2024.

"The reporter, Nurmalia, participated in the registration of PTSL in 2022. It turned out that, with the same object, the land had been registered by the Tumpang Village Head," said Mirodin.

Mirodin said that Tumpang Sugian was suspected of having falsified a statement so that the land certificate could be issued in his name.

As a result of his actions, Tumpang Sugian was charged with Article 266 and Article 263 of the Criminal Code regarding forgery of letters or documents with a maximum penalty of seven years in prison.
