The defendant in the case of a minor molestation and member of the Singkawang DPRD, H Herman alias H Aman, underwent his first trial at the Singkawang District Court Office (PN), West Kalimantan (Kalbar), Tuesday, February 18.

The trial with the agenda of reading the indictment by the Public Prosecutor (JPU) was chaired by Chief Judge Yulius, along with two members of each named Christian and Erwan.

Meanwhile, the Singkawang District Attorney presented five Public Prosecutors (JPU) in the case.

"We have prepared five prosecutors in the case of H Aman, including myself as the Head of the Public Prosecutor's Team," said the Head of the Singkawang District Attorney's Office, Nur Handayani, as confiscated by Antara.

At this inaugural trial, the defendant H Herman alias H Aman was accompanied by his attorney in the trial.

The trial was opened by the panel of law behind closed doors to the public and today the Public Prosecutor read out the indictment to the defendant.

"Furthermore, the second trial will be held on February 25 to present witnesses," he said.

After reading the indictment, the defendant's legal advisor did not file an exception. In the reading of the indictment, there were four charges alleged against the defendant.

Which prosecutors ensnared the defendant with multiple articles, namely Article 81 paragraph 2 and/or Article 82 paragraph 1 of Law No. 17 of 2016 and/or Article letter C of Law No. 12 of 2022.

"In addition to being threatened with criminal charges by the Child Protection Law, the suspect is also charged with the Law on sexual violence," he said.

He also went directly to trial because the case experienced by H Aman had attracted public attention and became an attention to the leadership so that he joined the prosecutor's team.

HA himself is a elected member of the Singkawang DPRD for the 2024-2029 period.
