JAKARTA - Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning/Head of BPN Nusron Wahid stated that the investigation related to the alleged abuse of authority in the case of the sea fence in Bekasi, West Java, has been completed and BPN employees involved will be removed.

After meeting with President Prabowo at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Monday, February 17, Nusron reported the latest reports related to land, including the misuse of land certificates in the Bekasi and Tangerang areas in the case of sea fences.

"The Bekasi process of investigating our apparatus has also been completed. Maybe tomorrow or the day after tomorrow I announce, there are several people who will also be dismissed in Bekasi," said Nusron when giving a statement at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, reported by ANTARA.

Nusron explained that the modus operandi in the case of transferring land parcel maps to the sea was carried out by officials at the lower level.

The case began with the existence of a field identification number on 89 certificates owned by 84 people with an area of 11.6 hectares.

Then, when the certificate was transferred to the sea, the area became 79 hectares. Then, the ownership of the certificate also changed from 84 owners to 11 owners, one of which was the local village head.

Nusron also only found out that 89 certificates were registered through the Complete Systematic Land Registration (PTSL) scheme. This PTSL account can be managed by a team under the implementing coordinator of PTSL at the district level, thus providing space for abuse of authority.

"The one who holds the account is the Head of the Office, the Head of Section. Well, it turns out that because this is a PTSL program, I just got information, if the PTSL program is an adjudication team, the team under the implementing coordinator of PTSL at the district level can also get an account," said Nusron.

Nusron emphasized that BPN officials suspected of abusing their positions in the case of the sea fence did not come from echelon 1 and echelon 2.

In his meeting with President Prabowo, Nusron also discussed the overlap in ownership of certificates of ownership (SHM) which often occurred due to land administration errors in the past.

According to Nusron, many certificates issued in the 1960-1987 period did not have clear land parcel maps, causing future ownership problems.
