Asking For Assistance In Corruption Management In Bandung City, Farhan Visits KPK

JAKARTA - The elected Mayor of Bandung Muhammad Farhan visited the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta today, Monday, February 17. He asked the anti-corruption commission to assist in preventing corruption.

"The Deputy and I, accompanied by several members of the Bandung City DPRD, will conduct consultations," Farhan told reporters at the location.

"Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) or memorandum of understanding will also be signed with the KPK in an effort to eradicate corruption," continued Farhan. He hopes this step can improve the governance of the City of Bandung.

Moreover, since 2023, the City of Bandung has been boosted by the anti-corruption commission which is investigating allegations of corruption.

It is known that the KPK has investigated allegations of corruption related to the procurement of CCTV for the Bandung Smart City program. This case also ensnared the former Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana.

"We must also really use this as a basis for direction of improvement," he said.

In addition, Farhan also assessed that the fraudulent practice in the city of Bandung was not only carried out by the government but also by the private sector. One of the things he mentioned was the management of a zoo whose case was already at the prosecution stage at the West Java High Prosecutor's Office.

So, he felt that the KPK needed to be present to provide assistance in efforts to prevent corruption in the city of Bandung. "This is worrying. So it means that coordination in supervision of corruption prevention is very important," he said.

"Not only for the government but also for everyone in the city of Bandung," concluded the former radio broadcaster.
