Doel On Retreat Activities Of Regional Heads: National And Food Security Deepening

JAKARTA - Deputy Governor elected DKI Jakarta, Rano Karno (Doel) predicts the activities that will be carried out by elected regional heads in the last week of treatment in February.

According to Doel, the regional heads who will be sworn in will explore a number of strategic programs of the central government, ranging from national security to food.

"Later, maybe further deepening on how food security is, national security must be understood by regional leaders, so that we can also support the central government," said Doel at the Ministry of Home Affairs Office, Central Jakarta, Sunday, February 16.

Doel assessed that the retreat activity initiated by President Prabowo Subianto was not much different from the Lemhannas regional leadership eradication course program as he underwent when he led Banten.

"I've also participated in Lemhannas, surely the activities are a bit the same as that," said Doel.

Doel admitted that he and all deputy governors, deputy regents, and deputy mayors had not attended the retreat since the first day.

"Incidentally, the representative is required to attend on the 27th, because it is to follow the closing of the 28th, except for the Governor. The governor was indeed from the start," he added.

The retret of regional heads, which will be held from February 21 to 28, 2025, is fully financed by the State Budget through the Budget Implementation List (DIPA) of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The decision is contained in the Circular Letter (SE) of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 200.5/692/SJ issued Thursday (13/2) afternoon addressed to governors and deputy governors, regents and deputy regents, as well as mayors and deputy mayors throughout Indonesia. The regulation also revises SE Number 200.5/628/SJ which had regulated financing through the regional budget (APBD).

Hasan explained that the retret financing by the Ministry of Home Affairs was due to budget reconstruction, after the budget structure in the ministry experienced efficiency.

"From the regional governments, they actually already have routine costs to be collected from the elected regional heads. The original plan was cost sharing. But after the reconstruction of the budget with a new formula, the Ministry of Home Affairs was finally able to bear all the costs of the retreat in Magelang," Hasan said.
