Prabowo Alludes To The Assumption Of A Fat Cabinet: Don't Care What It's Called, The Important Results

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Gerindra Party as well as the 8th President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto quipped many parties who called the Red and White Cabinet a fat cabinet. He mentioned many observers who thought so.

This was conveyed by Prabowo during a political speech at the 17th Anniversary of the Gerindra Party which was held in Sentul, West Java, Saturday, February 15. Initially, he expressed his gratitude to his cabinet.

"I thank my assistants. The ministers and coordinating ministers," he said to applause from the cadres and invitees present.

However, Prabowo admitted that he often heard views from other parties, especially observers. "This cabinet, the cabinet is fat. It's too big," he said, tilting his head to the right and left.

Prabowo's statement was then greeted with laughter, including by the cabinet members who attended. He then compared the condition with Timor Leste, which has a population of about 2 million people but has 28 ministers.

"Smaller than Bogor Regency, the cabinet is 28 people. We are as wide as Europe. Europe is 27 countries, he is 27 finance ministers, 27 foreign ministers, 27 commanders," he said.

"The cabinet is fat," continued Prabowo, while advancing his lips, which was greeted with laughter again.

"It doesn't matter what I'm called, the important thing is the result," Prabowo said excitedly.

For information, Prabowo was assisted by 48 ministers, 5 heads of agencies in his cabinet. Then, he also placed 56 people in the deputy ministerial position.

The number does not include the envoy or special staff he has chosen.
