MPR Chairman Ahmad Muzani Officially Becomes PWI Honorary Member At HPN 2025

Chairman of the MPR RI, Ahmad Muzani, has been officially awarded the title of Honorary Member of the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) (Ist)

JAKARTA - Chairman of the MPR RI, Ahmad Muzani, was officially awarded the title of Honorary Member of the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) at the peak of the 2025 National Press Day (HPN) celebration in South Kalimantan, February 9, 2025.

This award was given by the Central PWI under the leadership of Hendry Ch Bangun and Muhammad Iqbal Irsyad.

Ahmad Muzani was determined through Decree Number: 048-AK/PP-PWI/2025. As a recipient, he received a certificate, an honorary membership card (KTA), and recognition as part of the PWI extended family.

As a former journalist who has served in Amanah Magazine, Tabloid Friday, and Radio Ramaco, Ahmad Muzani meets the strict requirements as an Honorary Member. His contribution in supporting the development of Indonesian press is the main basis for this award.

Ahmad Muzani is also known as a strategic partner of the Press Council during his tenure in Commission I of the DPR RI. In his capacity as Chairman of the Faction and Secretary General of the Gerindra Party, he supports the professionalism of the press. Under his leadership, the Gerindra Party won the "Informative" classification based on the Law on Public Information Disclosure (UU KIP) and received the highest score in information disclosure

"The Central PWI has conducted an in-depth study and assesses that Ahmad Muzani deserves this award," said Hendra J Kede, Deputy Chair of the Central PWI Organization in his statement in Jakarta, Thursday, February 9.

As the recipient of this highest award, Ahmad Muzani is expected to continue to support the independent and professional Indonesian press. He is also expected to be an inspiration for generations of journalists to fight for the people's right to information.
