Two Foreign Citizens (WNA) from Poland were caught as illegal tour guides at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali.

The two foreigners, namely a man with the initials RS (39) and a woman with the initials MT (30) were arrested by officers for Intelligence and Immigration Enforcement (Inteldakim) of the Class I Immigration Office Special for TPI Ngurah Rai, Bali, on Friday (7/2) afternoon.

"Currently, we are still conducting further investigations of the two foreigners. If it is proven that there is an immigration violation, we will act in accordance with applicable regulations," said Head of the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, Bali, Winarko, Tuesday, February 11.

Initially, immigration officers operated independently in the I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport area, to carry out surveillance of foreigners who were involved in illegal activities.

At that time, the two Polish citizens were caught on a tour guide. Both are seen in the dropzone area of the International Departure Terminal wearing uniforms and carrying the attributes of foreign travel agency companies being with a group of foreign tourists.

"The team then collected information and conducted interviews with the person concerned," he added.

Both of them were then taken to the Ngurah Rai Immigration office for examination.

Based on immigration crossing data, it is known that the two foreigners entered Indonesia via I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport on January 4, 2025 using Visa on Arrival (VOA) and had a valid residence permit.

Winarko conveyed that the existence of foreign tourists who illegally act as guides or guides for other tourists has become a special attention for Ngurah Rai Immigration.

"Our team found that there were allegations that 2 foreigners were seen escorting foreign tourists in the international departure terminal area, for that we carried out further examinations of the two," said Winarko.
