19 Villages Affected By Pati Floods

PATI - The Regional Disaster Management Agency of Pati Regency, Central Java, noted that as many as 19 villages spread across five sub-districts were affected by flooding with varying inundation heights.

"Of the 19 villages affected by the flood, there are villages that are only affected in agricultural areas and some have an impact on residential areas," said Head of the Daily Executive (Kalakhar) of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Pati Regency Martinus Budi Prasetya as reported by ANTARA, Monday, February 10.

He noted that the number of villages most affected by floods spread across Gabus District as many as six villages, followed by Juwana District, there were five villages, Sukolilo District, three villages, Margorejo District four villages, and Pati District one village.

The total affected houses reached 122 houses, while 41 houses were flooded in Doropayung Village (Juwana District), Soko Village (Bcous District), and Gadudero Village and Kasiyan Villages (Solilo Observer).

"The flood that has occurred since Thursday (30/1) was caused by high moderate intensity rain and extreme weather in the Pati area since the last few days," he said.

This, according to him, has resulted in the Watershed (DAS) in Pati Regency increasing and unable to accommodate the rain discharge and overflowing inundated several sub-districts in Pati Regency. However, there was also a flood caused by the breakdown of the river embankment.

For flood inundation heights in each area, there are different areas, between 20-60 cm, including road access for residents who are also inundated.

However, to this day no residents have fled.

To anticipate disease, a free medical post is provided by the puskesmas, including the Sukolilo I Health Center to provide services in the health sector due to flooding which can have an impact on itching and fever.
