JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo has opened his voice regarding the polemic of Indonesian vaccines. According to Jokowi, he supports all forms of research to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.

President Joko Widodo emphasized that the government will always support anyone doing research, development and research in an effort to break the chain of COVID-19.

"I support research. This is research, everyone is welcome to make their own vaccines, ”explained President Joko Widodo in Jakarta, Tuesday, April 20, as quoted by Antara.

Furthermore, President Joko Widodo said that research on COVID-19 should be in the scientific realm, not into a political debate.

“How come it's crowded? The debate should be a scientific debate, this is because politicians are handling vaccines, lawyers are handling vaccines, what are the business? "Said President Jokowi.

Currently, the President continued, one of the COVID-19 vaccines being researched and developed in Indonesia is the Red and White vaccine.

"The progress that is currently seen is the Red and White Vaccine, although it may not be until 2022 that it will be completed and can be used," said the President.

President Joko Widodo hopes that every element of the nation will unite in efforts to end the COVID-19 pandemic.
